For the past several days I have felt that something big - in a positive way - was going to occur Wednesday. Well today is that day...
I had no idea of the date until I received an email last night which included article excerpts referring to “9-9-9”. Ah, yes: 09/09/09 – of course!
The email stated that “... the significance of the 9-9-9 is about the recoding and amplification of crystalline energy of both Earth and the human form.” And, it also said that “... this is not just a numerological curiosity in the Gregorian calendar, but that the date plays a profound objective role in the cosmic plan as we may understand this from the Mayan calendar directly leading up to the birth of a new world through the Ninth level, 9.9.9. ... we thus have reasons to expect an unprecedented period of change in a very short period of time. ” [You can read more at: http://www.earth-keeper.com/EKnews_7-11-09.htm and http://www.calleman.com/content/articles/999_and_the_mayan_calendar.htm]
I sensed it would be a big day, but I had no idea!
As we go through losing our home within the next week or so; figuring out what to place in storage, sell, donate, or keep near us; packing; trying to accumulate money and other resources to keep us going; and, finding a unique living situation that is rent-free and in a different part of the state, there is no doubt that Rog and my lives are about to change big time.
While I still don’t know that is going to happen today in my world, I’m grateful for being in a positive frame of mind, and for the signs and messages Spirit is sending my way...
Like the aforementioned information, reminding me that these are indeed exciting times and we’re not alone. Or, a quote found in one of my daily meditations books: “I am doing more and more for the last time and less and less for the first time.” – Andy Capp. Then there’s: "Who you are is beyond what you can imagine. Surrender all of the ideas of who you think you are, and allow us to show you directly the vastness of your being." – The Voice for Love.
Also, some new paying business has flowed in since last night; Spirit has been introducing us to a plethora of wonderful, kind people; and, friends of ours, he a gourmet chef, invited us for dinner tonight at their home – I’m enthusiastic about being with these spiritual people on what is inevitably feeling like a day of celebration. Oh yes, we’ve got a lottery ticket for tonight’s big drawing.
Yep, it’s been a full day already, with more in store. I know that God has a Plan –even if I don’t know what it is. I simply want to keep remembering that God is my Source, The Source, of everything in my life and that everything is a blessing.
So, come on, Big Change, let’s see what you’ve got for us! With God, all is well.
Thank You, God!

God’s Prayer
Yesterday I attended the Celebration of Spiritual Awakenings meetup. I was introduced to some interesting, talented, and simply amazing people.
One of those folks read her new poem and its sentiments resonated strongly with me.
Here it is:
God’s Prayer
As I take a look around me
I know that God is here
In the rocks, the trees, and the air that I breathe
That Presence is more than just “near”
I am a child of my Father
An expression of His Grace
As I pray my prayer to the Lord of All
I can feel Him right here in this place
God’s Life is everywhere present
I know It’s the Source of me
As I ask for my prayer to be answered
I find—in the asking—the key
When I make my request, the door opens
I can reach out and touch my desire
As I focus that feeling inside of me
It’s as if I’ve discovered fire!
My desire comes from my Father
He provides it to help us both grow
As the Source of ALL creation
Desire springs forth the Flow
As I express my desire to my Father
I come ‘round full circle, you see
I don’t need to fear that my prayer won’t be heard
Because God prays His own prayer...through me

Lasting Sentiment
Joy, happiness, and peace are natural results of doing things God’s way...
Acknowledging our gratitude for the blessings in our life releases the happiness that we sometimes keep hidden within our heart.
I will share happiness and my faith in God with others today.
- Based on various readings from In God’s Care and inscribed on the front card cover of the invitation to my 40th birthday celebration
It’s 14 years since I designed that invitation. The sentiment rings true to me today and I endeavor to abide by it every day.

That Tall Redhead
I just came back from driving my dear friend, Karen to the airport. She was visiting us here in Phoenix from Baltimore - just for the weekend. That’s quite a schlep for a two-night stay but we pack a lot of love and laughter into such short times together. You know, quality not quantity.
We last saw each other about 10 months ago, but when I picked her up at the airport on Friday afternoon, it was like we’d just seen one another the day before. That’s just how it is with some friends.
Karen and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary of friendship next month. We first met in New York on my very first day of a job at an international banking corporation – her laughter across the entire 18th floor of the building announced her presence.
We’ve shared wonderful U.S. and European travel adventures together, and supported one another in times of joy, grief, sadness, frustration, denial, etc. – especially where men were concerned! She stood by my side when, as an atheist, I at times ranted about the lack of proof of the existence of God; she would gently comment that she thought “the lady hath protest too much.” She stood by me when my communication skills as a friend were lacking. She stood by me in love. And, I was so grateful that four short years ago she flew from Dallas to attend my wedding, joining in the celebration of love and reunification in this lifetime of Rog and me.
Karen has been a role model for me of love starting at the very beginning of our friendship, and in more recent times, has been a role model of deep faith and trust. We often say, “If only we lived nearer to one another...” But we both know that we are in one’s another’s heart, and in that place with God, we are always near.

Light
Yesterday was the Winter Solstice – yippee, now the days will be longer, full of more light. Hmmm – is that one reason why the holiday season is called the Season of Light?
The Winter Solstice astronomically marks the beginning of shortening nights and lengthening days. Worldwide, interpretation of the event has varied from culture to culture, but most cultures have held a recognition of rebirth.
Then there’s Chanukah, also known as the Festival of Lights, which began at sundown last night. It is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt of the 2nd century BCE. The Temple was purified and the wicks of the menorah miraculously burned for eight days, even though there was only enough sacred oil for one day's lighting.
According to the chabad.org website, Chanukah celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, of purity over adulteration, of spirituality over materiality.
And, of course, coming up later this week is Christmas, the holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus. Jesus was born at a time when society was infested with spiritual ignorance and unrighteousness (superstition, greed, hatred, hypocrisy, etc.). He came as a spiritual guide (Guru) or Savior Form of God to guide people to Liberation from spiritual ignorance or ego (sin), the root cause of suffering. We each have the light and love of the Christ Presence within, which is our spiritual nature.
So there are numerous reasons for calling this time of year the Season of Light. I see it as a time that reminds us of The Light: the truth, the goodness, the God within - indeed great cause for joy and celebration.

Today's Thanks
Dear Spirit of the Most High;
Thank You for getting us home safely tonight after a full day of activities.
Thank You for the Christmas caroling –a hootenanny to me – hosted by East West Exchange. I had three solid hours of singing Christmas songs, improvising harmonies, and feeling a part of the small group of warm folks (including my dear yoga instructor) who gathered. It was exactly as I would have wanted it: no pressure, perfection not required, people who love singing, a feeling of togetherness. I don’t organize or participate in such singing groups much these days, so it was an extra special treat: Singing at Christmas time! Thank You, Spirit, once again.
Thank You for Lisa and Chip and their creating East West Exchange. It is a home away from home.
Thank You for all the people who listened to and sang Christmas carols indoors on a sunny Arizona holiday shopping Sunday and hence provided me with a delightful, uplifting afternoon.
Thank You for a pleasant Sunday dinnertime at Rog’s mom’s home, with his brother, David, another unique occasion since David is visiting from Washington State and the four of us have never before shared an intimate cozy meal together.
Thank You for a healthier intake of food this day after yesterday’s Wyer Family Christmas celebration with too many goodies!
Thank You, of course, for my beloved Roger (and his improving physical state).
Thank You for the peace I feel this evening after starting the day in a not-so-peaceful state.
Goodnight.

Celebration
Today was a day full of celebration – a long day of celebration!
We attended Rog’s daughter Emily’s boyfriend’s college commencement, then gathered to break bread and celebrate Nick’s achievement. There was conversation, the making of new friends, getting acquainted with family members, a bubbly toast, homemade cake decorated with the colors of Nick’s school, and the opening of gifts and greeting cards to acknowledge and congratulate Nick on earning his B.A.
Tonight’s service at The Little Chapel was an extra special one focused on Christmas. Jesus was the focal point of the message, special music was presented, gifts given – all in celebration of the birth of Jesus and what this special man gave to the world. Repeatedly we heard the message that God loves every single one of us. There is such joy in that idea, such power - and strong reason to celebrate.
On the drive home we tuned in briefly to Delilah’s radio show. People express their love for someone in their life and dedicate a song to them. It’s a celebration of love and gratitude.
It’s not often that I have such a full day of people celebrating people, but it sure is an uplifting experience and a reminder of the goodness in life and the vastness of love to be shared.
