Looking to God

“We may still fear the outcome of a situation because we’re not certain God wants the same things for us that we want. But by recalling our past, when God’s direction has brought us where we need to be, we can rest our mind and turn our life over again.” – In God’s Care, December 29

‘Tis true... When I get into fear about something in the present - well, no (not the present, for all is well in the Now) – the future, I simply have to go back to the past and see how God took care of me. This past year has been quite an adventure, and quite a demonstration of God blessing me and showering me with grace. When I look at my life these days - my physical surroundings, my relationships, my community - there is no doubt that God has had quite a hand in the unfolding of it all. I am grateful.

So, what insanity makes me think that God would drop me now? That God would not continue blessing me and taking care of me?

The ego is a cunning, devious entity and it surely took hold over me big time last week. And with all the fear it generated, it still did not keep Spirit from gracing me and taking care of me.

May I keep a steadfast gaze on Thee, my Source, and may Thy will be my will. I turn my will and my life over to the care of God over (and over and over...) again. And so it is.

Present Demonstration

My prayer this morning was...

Dear God;

Thank You for this day.

In this moment, all is well - may I stay here, in the Now. Let me not look to the future, nor even to the past. For it is only in the Now that You are. It is only here that I am in peace. There is no fear here.

And then I read...

“... there is not the slightest reason to be discouraged merely because one’s present demonstration seems to be very poor and spiritual power entirely lacking.” - Emmet Fox, in his essay The Everlasting Gates

Granted, it is not true that my present demonstration is “very poor” nor my spiritual power “entirely lacking.” However, there are a couple of areas in my life that I feel fearful about. These are pointers that tell me I need to focus on God, on the Now. Here is where there is power, strength, faith. And peace.

It’s always about (getting back to) peace.

Prayer for the Day

Dear God -

May I start first with feeling Your Presence. From there may I exude Your Love, Joy, Peace, and Grace to others I meet on the path today.

Please increase and enliven my trust and faith in You and Your works, and leave the fears and littleness of the ego by the wayside so that I may enjoy this day and You can make Your demonstrations.

As I leave the Silence and go out into the world today, may I feel Your Presence and hear Your Voice at all times, and may following Your guidance flow with ease, grace, and joy in a perfect way.

Thank You, thank You, thank You; and, so it is.

Where's the Joy?

I am seeking joy today. I know it’s not outside of me. It comes from God; it is part of my divine birthright.

But these days it seems hard to find my joy. How can that be if it is part of me through and through, like God? I suppose my ego has put blocks up to my joy and they appear to run deep.

The good news is that if my joy comes from Spirit, then Spirit can restore me to that which I appear to lack.

Today I turn my life and my will over to Spirit. I ask for any obstacles to joy be removed so that I may be a better demonstration to others of Your love and grace. Thank You, Spirit! So it is.

Coming to Pass

"What you experience is an outcome of your desire. What you want will come to pass first in your heart, then through your mind, and finally in your experience. Feel your desire to hear God's voice, believe it is possible, ask to receive it, and it will be yours." - From www.thevoiceforlove.com

Living closer to Nature, in a simpler way, and connecting in community was in my heart for a long time. It then came mentally to me and what followed for more than a year was much discussion with Rog, clarification, and praying for guidance and help. Finally, this past Wednesday, we officially moved to Sedona, AZ and are now living in the perfect place we had been seeking.

We believed and had faith it was possible, we asked, we received. It’s been quite an experience and quite the demonstration.

I am so grateful to now live in a beautifully scenic, small, friendly town, in a home that is filled with character, being part of a spiritual community, all with my Life Partner beside me. Thank You, Spirit!

And so it is in relationship to God: I have the desire in my heart to hear God’s voice and feel Its Presence, I so believe it is possible, I am asking through prayer for it, and I know it is mine. Thank You, God!

All Things Are Possible

“I am very excited for you and Roger witnessing your courage and faith in the Universe bringing about what is in the higher good for the both of you. In the not too distant past I would have thought you two were crazy. Today you are my heroes - go figure!” - From an email sent by a new friend of ours.

It warms the cockles of my heart to have witnesses to what is transpiring in our life – and to be a demonstration to others, as we feel Spirit has called on us to be. In the past we too would have thought ourselves crazy! But through opening up to the Great Mystery and all the possibilities, all the power in the Universe, we are able to go through what seems to most, insanity.

It’s sometimes been scary, but I think the fact that these huge changes for us have, for the most part, happened gradually over the past year has made them easier for us to digest. Along with deeper and deeper contemplation about what is important in life and seeking God’s guidance, we are in a state of joyful expectancy and peace.

Thank You, Spirit, for the wonderful people You bring into our lives, and the wonders You perform to bring us back to You and our natural state of peace and joy.

Birthing With God

Spending three days camping, with the waters of Oak Creek flowing behind our tent and surrounded by large, old cottonwood trees, coming back to our life in Gilbert is strange. We’re wrapping things up here in this town of 200,000+ and looking forward to building our life up north precisely in the setting we just left - close to Nature, living in a small rural-type community.

As we transition from our old life in Gilbert to our new one up north, I am excited and enthusiastic. Also, I am so open to guidance from Spirit. Throughout this journey that Rog and I set upon nine months ago (consciously in September, but unconsciously earlier still), we have sought God’s guidance and, most certainly, God’s help. Along the way, I’ve developed my muscles of faith, trust, patience, and remembering to stay in the Now. It hasn’t always been easy and it’s been scary at times, but I believe it was for my highest good as well as to be a demonstration and help to others.

Yep, nine months of a lot of change and getting down to basics. As Rog pointed out, it’s like we’re giving birth to a new life – ours! And, just like the birth of a child, the birth of our new life is a miracle. We’ve been showered with blessings in the form of learning lessons, strengthening old relationships, growing new friendships, circulating money to and fro, and more.

We’ve still a ways to go before the delivery, but based on the journey we’ve travelled thus far, I have no doubt that God is with us, nurturing us, guiding us, and bringing us to our ever-increasing good that will benefit others. I am grateful.

The Spiritual Waters of Life

I am driving my 2003 silver Camry with Rog in the front passenger seat and an unknown male in the seat behind the driver. I make a right-hand turn to head toward the ocean and I see there is a wall, so I need to redirect. I go back and then make another right-hand turn. The beach and the ocean are visible but I will have to drive through a brief distance of about 2-feet of deep water before I can reach dry land. There are people on the other side of the water who want to cross it, but they are uncertain that they can make it through.

I feel calm. I ask my passengers to help me raise the car off the ground (like Fred Flintstone used to) so that the water won’t ruin the car. They readily respond and we easily make it to the beach to drive along the shoreline, parallel to the ocean. The people who were waiting to see if we could succeed are reassured by our demonstration and feel that now they can do what we have done.

Rog and I sorted out my dream during this morning’s coffee time.

As the driver of the car, I was independent, self confident, and responsible for the direction of my life. Because water can take any shape or move in many ways, how we relate to it indicates how we are meeting our emotions and moods. In the dream, I felt calm when I encountered obstacles. I recognized I needed help, and I easily asked for and accepted it.

I had the sense that the unknown male passenger was God. So it was God and Rog (my beloved husband and twin flame), the two closest beings in my life, that I asked for help. I asked and I received, and all flowed easily.

Throughout my adult life, due to childhood experiences, it has been difficult for me to ask for help. As a child, if I actually did ask for help, I oftimes felt let down. I had also been a devout atheist for about 1/3 of my life, feeling that I could rely only on me. In this dream, my facing obstacles in a calm way and easily asking people and God for help indicates that I’ve made the shift most importantly on the subconscious level.

Thinking of being a demonstration to others in the dream makes me smile. Since coming to believe in God, I have endeavored to be of service. I see that my life purpose to help empower other people is being realized in both the dream and waking states.

I appreciate the confirmation that all is well in the spiritual waters of my life. Thank You, Spirit!
