I’ve been nursing a head cold for several days now, God’s way of getting me to slow down. My ears are stuffed up, my eyes watery, my short term memory... well, short - VERY short! So one could accurately say that communication between me and others might not be that clear.
Still, Rog has been patient when I ask him to repeat himself so I can make sure I’ve heard him correctly. I’ve misheard several phrases and we’ve been able to laugh at my perception of what he said. Perception for any human being is difficult on any given day, but in this physical body currently, it’s even more so. We’re accepting the circumstances and one another, doing our best to make ourselves clear speakers and clear receivers. We’re laughing and saying “I love you” when a message gets lost in my mind’s translation.
But what about when we’re all in pretty good physical condition - then what’s the reason behind miscommunication? Do I hear any votes for the ego, for not being in fit spiritual condition? One is either in their ego mind or their God mind - there’s no middle ground.
I have to be in fit spiritual condition to accurately perceive when someone makes accusations towards me that have no basis in reality - well, certainly not mine - that something else is going on with that person. It’s not about me. It’s not personal even if it appears that way. When someone chooses to cling to their position, their ego is at work, keeping them closed to other options and possibilities. And, their heart has been clamped shut. Not a fun place to be for anyone.
I certainly don’t want to live that way and I am grateful to be waking up. It’s not always easy, with relationships and possessions going by the wayside through necessity. Waking up means honestly looking at my inner thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors with a microscope so that I can know and be who I truly am. From there, I walk in this world coming from the place of Spirit. Acceptance, love, compassion, and kindness prevail.
Waking up can be challenging, but sticking with the illusion would mean being an open and willing partner to ego, to unnecessary pain and suffering. Freedom is at stake.
On this new earth we may find ourselves not making the journey with the long-time companions we thought would be accompanying us. But we will all get Home and be reunited with those we needed to let go of along the way of getting there. We are One and that can never change.
Dear Spirit -
Thank You for Your mercy and compassion as we each do what we can to wake up to You and to who we really are. May I demonstrate mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional love to all on my path, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. And, may each do the same with me!

Waking Up
For centuries, the idea has been around that our thoughts create our life, that we are living in a dream, and that the outer world is a reflection of but the inner world. Nothing has changed - that Truth remains. It is a call to wake up.

The Real World
Today’s Daily Inspiration from The Voice for Love states:
Where God is ... death, destruction, and devastation are not possible.
In Reality, God is All There Is.
This brings me back to A Course in Miracles (ACIM) directly.
THIS world can’t be “real” because of the death, destruction, and devastation that we have here... That’s pretty clear. So where do I go from here, what do I do?
The question really is “How do I be?” I choose to be focused on God, to see God all around me and in every being that crosses my path. To show only love, to be love. What I see is what I am projecting, and my ego will project such non-real things as death, destruction, and devastation. I need not go there; I can choose once again.
Choose once again if you would take your place among the saviors of the world, or would remain in hell, and hold your brothers there. - ACIM T-31.VIII.1:5.

The Dream
A Course in Miracles talks about this world as an illusion, a dream. So do Eastern traditions as well as other sources. When the individual has awakened from the dream, he/she will know true reality.
Like the alarm clock I use to awaken me in the morning, I set my cell phone alarm to awaken me from my meditative practice. This morning, when it went off, a question appeared in my consciousness: Is this the way it’s going to be when I awaken from the dream, i.e., an alarm will sound, and – poof! – I’ll be fully awaken, and Home with God in the Real World?
No, I don’t think that’s the way it works. For me, awakening has been a gradual process although there’ve been some big “Ah-ha’s” along the path.
I look forward to when I arrive Home a fully conscious being. Until then, I’ll put one foot in front of the other, be open to God’s guidance, and seek to realize all the God-like potential that resides inside me.

Life Guidance
I’m glad to be out again studying philosophy and life with a group of people.
Last week I started a brief class on the Bhaghavad Gita and another one on Spiritual Economics: The Principles and Process of True Prosperity by Eric Butterworth.
The Gita presents, in seven-hundred verses revered as a sacred scripture of Hinduism, a handbook for Self-realization and a guide to action. In it, Krishna, an incarnation of God, instructs on the nature of the soul and its relation to God, the levels of consciousness and reality, the makeup of the phenomenal world, etc. It points the way on how to achieve freedom and peace within.
In Spiritual Economics, Eric Butterworth reminds us in straightforward, non-theological language that we have the power and the means within us to live abundantly. We can work with the flow of life instead of against it, develop a prosperous attitude about money, health and love, and maintain our inner focus on affluence.
Hinduism and New Thought literature - each fascinating, providing insight into living life, and just the kind of works I enjoy reading.
I did not receive much guidance when I was growing up, but I’ve fared pretty well in many aspects of my life and known joy. And, always I can tap into a richness of knowledge to study, and interact with people who have the learning and the experience, and are willing to share it. I am not alone. I am grateful.
