The End

It’s the end of the day, the end of a weekend. It’s hard to believe we married a couple just two days ago - it feels like weeks! This weekend has been so rich.

Not only did Rog and I officiate at a wedding, but his daughter Emily visited us for the weekend. We’ve not seen her since Christmastime. And, I finished editing a novella for a client/friend. I sang in the Mystic Choir, listened to other music, and got to hear a friend’s story of his spiritual awakening when he spoke at Unity of Sedona. I met with a new client who is on a conscious spiritual path, which is my preferred type of client. And, I engaged in many conversations, some mini-, some a bit more, but all with the result of connection and getting to know one another better and being of service. Did I mention the hugs? Lots of hugs this weekend too.

All of the aforementioned enriches my life, my spirit. My soul gets nourished via connection, especially with folks that are on a journey of waking up.

I am so grateful for the plan God has for me. I may not know what He has in mind but there is no doubt that it is rich with people.

So as I get ready to have my head hit my pillow tonight, to end this day, I thank Spirit for all the blessings It has showered upon me. I’m doing the work of being willing and open to waking up. The Universe is responding to this energy with grace and prosperity. The awakening is its own joy and gift - and the prosperity is most welcomed too.

Thank You O Great Mystery. And, good night!

Prosperity

Today’s Daily Word is Prosperity: “I prosper as I live a life of purpose.” It reminds me that when my purpose is to serve God, I am supported in all I do.

And, when I focus on serving, connection to Spirit and my fellow travelers abounds. It is so clear that God is my Source for everything and I prosper physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and financially.

I am grateful to be able to rest in this Truth this day. Thank You, God!

Prosperity

“True prosperity is about spiritual wealth. It's about knowing that my true source is not my employer, my partner or my parent. God is the source of my greatest good.

“When I am aware of the ever-flowing wisdom and grace of God's spirit, I cannot help but create prosperity in all areas of my life--in my relationships, my health, my wealth. As I focus on the Truth, abundance flows. I am rich in all ways, and I am grateful.” – Excerpt from Daily Word, Tuesday, 02.16.10

Once again it is written that God is to be the focus of my life. And why not?! If Spirit is the One Source and One Presence, surely It is worthy of my attention! More specifically, I am really nothing without God - literally, God breathes life into me.

When I keep my thoughts staid on Thee, life flows and, with it, abundance. Prosperity shows up in many forms. I must remain open to receiving God’s blessings, I must surrender my ego at the door.

May I keep my thoughts staid on Thee as I walk through this day of distractions of all sorts, which are ego’s attempts at keeping me separate from You and my fellows. Regardless of appearances, You are my Source and prosperity abounds. Thank You, thank You, thank You. And, so it is.

Duality

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” - Anne Bradstreet

It is true that in this world of duality, the contrasts make me appreciate the positive side of things. All in all, as my Aunt Katherine remarked to me last week, I’ve had a good life. And, there’s always been a few areas of it that have posed a struggle and tipped toward the negative side of the scale. One of these has been financial resources.

I am ready to receive prosperity in all forms, but especially financial abundance. I’ve had enough experience - and hopefully learning - that I no longer need to go through the experience of seeming lack in order to realize my financial good.

Dear Spirit -

I know that You are the One Presence, One Power, and the Source of all. In this world of duality, may the scale tip toward the positive and enable me to appreciate all the good in my life with me no longer having to experience the shadow side. With You all things are possible, including this. Thank You, thank You, thank You!

Prosperity

Today's Daily Word - Friday, November 6, 2009
PROSPERITY

I am blessed by the goodness of God.

Prosperity manifests in my life in myriad ways--not only as money. As I count my blessings, I realize that God's goodness is everywhere. I give thanks for my food, shelter, friends, family and livelihood. I focus on my blessings rather than dwelling on any perception of lack.

The more I look for things to be grateful for, the more blessings I find. By noticing these blessings and giving thanks, I am positive, productive and prepared for good.

The more good I perceive, the more I receive. As I appreciate all of God's blessings and dwell in abundance and contentment, even more goodness comes my way.

I choose to live in God's abundance, accepting all the blessings life has to offer
.

My sentiments exactly!

A Long Day In Coming

Today was the big day Rog and I have been striving toward for about the past 14 months: starting a new life, settling in a small town in Northern Arizona, living closer to Nature and in community. We did it!

Well, actually, God did it. We moved into a house that has tremendous character, one that hadn’t even been for rent! Financial prosperity has been growing, meaningful friendships blossoming, etc.

The only difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is the way in which we use them. — Anonymous

Yes, we had a lot of obstacles to overcome but we chose to use them as stepping stones to grow closer to Spirit. We leaned on God - trusting, having faith, and surrendering. I didn’t do it perfectly, but I have absolutely no doubt that God was with us, guiding us, laying out the plan for us. I am so grateful.

Dear God –
Thank You for showering Your love on me, and the myriad of ways Your blessings create a rich life.

Nothing But the Best

As a child of God – omnipotent, unconditionally loving, rich in all ways – how can I not possess and be blessed by this All That Is? It seems that early on we learn to expect the worst, rather than expect the best. Where then, does that put God?

Catherine Ponder states in Open Your Mind to Receive: “Our beliefs about God and man can either lead to a dismal existence or to accepting and claiming the best in life” (page 55).

Particularly as we seek our perfect home this day, I am re-reading and re-affirming statements that open my mind to receiving nothing but the best. Doing so is uplifting and can only bring positive results. There is no need to settle for less than the best. After all, God is my Supply, prosperity and success are my heritage, and I am the rich child of a loving Father.

Channels

Dear God –

Thank You for Your many, many blessings. I know that You are my Source, my Supply for everything, everything, everything. And, I am soooo grateful.

I know that Your Supply comes through channels, but they always lead back to You, Source.

So many new channels have opened up recently for me. Via the Internet through such tools as Craigslist, Facebook, eBay, and email in general, I have newly met a wealth of wonderful people, rekindled former relationships, and strengthened present ones, business and social. When I go about the day and chores (like going into a food store, bank, or library), You have given me the opportunity to open up channels to more of You. And, attending various social and business meetings, I am exposed to even more of Your channels.

Thank You for Your channels, Your other children, through whom I am blessed with Your love, financial prosperity, and wealth of all kinds.

Care of the Soul

“I used to think you had to be poor to be a genuine seeker of truth. Now I know that’s just not so. You can be a seeker of truth while looking through the windows of your own jet plane, or while enjoying a luxurious hotel suite.” – A famous actress quoted in Open Your Mind to Receive, by Catherine Ponder.

During an interview this same actress was asked, “How can you talk about spiritual values when you’re surrounded by so much beauty?” She replied, “Beauty and luxury are a part of God’s kingdom so why not have the best? The important thing is that you do not sell your soul for such blessings. Instead, it is through spiritual growth that these blessings can best come to you and permanently remain with you.” [Ibid, page 2.]

The important thing is that you do not sell your soul for such blessings.

There are too many people doing just that, selling their soul by working in a j-o-b strictly for the money. In the meanwhile, they do not enjoy the work, they are treated as machines rather than sentient beings, and they don’t have time to enjoy friends, family, themselves (!). - they are killing themselves on numerous levels (physically, mentally, spiritually). How can this be the way Spirit intended us spiritual beings to have a human experience? Surely this way fosters a shrinkage, not an expansion of energy, consciousness, love, peace, and joy. And, when the individual (micro-organism) is shrinking, inevitably the culture (macro-organism) is as well. It is no wonder the world, particularly the Western world, is in the shape it is these days.

I’m pretty much unemployable now for I will not sell my soul for an unsatisfying job just so that I can “earn” money to keep the house bills paid, food on the table, clothes on my back. I’m willing to do with less on the material plane if need be, in order to have more on the spiritual and emotional plane. Hence, I have my own business, and even whilst it is not currently very financially lucrative, it has afforded me prosperity and abundance in other ways.

Mostly, it has made my time my own to do what I want with. That means Rog and I can enjoy coffee vacations in the morning and afternoon, we can go for a hike in Sedona any day of the week we like, we can connect with friends, family, and clients often. I can spend time in meditation, and maybe even more than once a day! I am freer than I’ve ever been before. I am so grateful that my spirit has been willing to shed attachments and blockages that have kept me from this abundance of blessings.

My soul/spirit is my most precious being. By taking good care of it, by nourishing it, I am a better human being to my fellows and to be of service to God. Opening my mind, heart, and spirit to receiving, the results of prosperity show up are in accordance with my spiritual growth. Thank You, Spirit!

Today

Today, remind yourself that nothing is too good to be true. Your great hopes can be realized. Your most wonderful dreams can come true. All that you really need, you can have. An incredible goodness is operating in your behalf. If you are living a paltry life, resolve to stop it today. Expect great things to happen. Confidently receive God's abundant blessings. Do not think lack. Instead think prosperity, abundance, the best of everything. God wants to give to you, His child, every good thing. Don’t hinder His generosity.

Look to This Day by Kalidasa

Look to this day:
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence.
The bliss of growth,
The glory of action,
The splendour of achievement
Are but experiences of time.

For yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow is only a vision;
And today well-lived, makes
Yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well therefore to this day;
Such is the salutation to the ever-new dawn!

Today is a new day, a fresh start, another adventure. May I partake in it with vigor, enthusiasm, joy, and love.

Thank You, Spirit, for today!

Daily Manifestation

Here’s another one from my traveling file collection (mentioned in yesterday’s blog)...

Daily Manifestation

I see my day being an unlimited flowing of unconditional love, appreciation, and joy.

I flow inspiriting life energy through me as I continually choose to fully experience profound well-being and carefreeness.

I feel a strong connection to my higher self and my guiding spirits, who unceasingly rejoice in the choices I make that support my happiness as I look for reasons to feel good.

I remain constant in the belief that everything in my life serves my highest good.

Therefore, I see those people and events in my life that prompt in me disquieting feelings as wonderful gifts that show me the good feeling I want to more strongly focus on creating.

And the good feelings that I create benefit everyone.

Indeed, I know that the greatest gift I can give to those I care about – including myself – is my love, appreciation, and joy.

Today I intend to allow my life
. to unfold with increasing grace and ease
. to be lavishly filled with love, appreciation, joy, prosperity, health, supportive family and friends
. to walk the path of All is Well; All is Perfect.

Another Way

Classified Ad for Services Needed: Removal of blockages for very gifted, spiritual husband and wife team not realizing their good. Need immediate help - miracles - for financial prosperity. Prayers most welcomed!

We know other folks too are facing the spiritual challenge of trying to figure out how to live in this world without compromising their integrity - to be in this world, but not of this world.

Today we spent a chunk of time in meaningful conversation with another gifted, confused couple. The idea arose that perhaps the days of trying to live in this world as a single person, then as a couple, no longer works. So we’re going to form a sacred circle and bring our gifts together to access the power of Spirit in a grander way. We figure four is better than two which is better than one. After all, when two or more are gathered in his name...

We’re looking for another way, a way that works on this plane where we spiritual beings have to deal with daily earthly things. Here comes another exciting adventure – count me in!

Pennies From Heaven

...159 of them! Yep, that’s right.

This morning Rog and I focused on our life plan, the plan that Spirit has in mind for us and the one we need to align ourselves with to really forge ahead. It speaks to our life in terms of God, community and friends, home, work (self-expression), health, and prosperity.

This afternoon we ran a chore and on the way back to the car, spied pennies on the blacktop drive. It sure was weird to see so many pennies. We collected them, as we cautiously watched out for cars, and were in awe at the number when counted.

I believe that God was sending us a message – Rog agrees. God is uplifting us in faith to keep moving ahead, to know that prosperity of all kinds is here, with more to come. It is a message that I welcome and am grateful for.

One penny would be a “lucky penny.” 159 of them is sheer abundance. Thank You, Spirit!

True Meanings

The other day I was reading Spiritual Economics: The Principles and Process of True Prosperity by Eric Butterworth, and came upon the original definitions of some important terms.

- “affluence”: an abundant flow”
- “prosperity”: “according to hope, moving forward hopefully”
- “wealth”: “well-being”

I knew that these are not the meanings in today’s culture and this morning embarked on a bit of research with the hope of being proved wrong.

Here’s what I found:

“affluence”:
Merriam-Webster: “abundance of property: wealth"
Encarta: “having an abundance of material wealth”

“prosperity”:
Merriam-Webster: “the condition of being successful or thriving; especially: economic well-being”
Encarta: “success: the condition of enjoying wealth, success, or good fortune”

“wealth”:
Merriam-Webster: “abundance of valuable material possessions or resources”
Encarta: “state of having much money: the state of having plenty of money or possessions”

It is no wonder that our society is in the shape it is ethically, financially, etc. The western world especially has moved drastically away from a spiritual focus to an excessive material focus in how we live our life and conduct our relationships.

I want the peace, joy, and love, that is my divine birthright and I know I cannot experience them by following these modern definitions of “affluence”, “prosperity”, and “wealth”. I’m sticking with the practice of the original meanings in my own life – and, I’m glad to observe that more and more people are too.

Giving

Yesterday I volunteered to help out at the Unity church I attend even though I’m not a member. I’ve really been missing being of service and here’s an opportunity to help an organization that’s right under my nose.

It was certainly no coincidence that two of my readings this morning were about giving...

Excerpted from today’s Daily Word:

I give generously from my heart.

The good I do for others makes a difference in their lives. I contribute my energies in ways that benefit people--some known and others unknown to me. By being helpful, I honor the Christ within me and within them.

When I give of myself, I am expressing consideration and generosity.

The other one was a story about an American on a train bound for a foreign town, with no one to meet him at his destination as his host had been delayed. Two strangers traveling in the same compartment help him, with one driving him to his final destination. When the American tried to pay the man for his kindness, he pushed away the money and said, “You do...” [Click here for full Daily Guideposts story.]

And, one of the prosperity principles that came up in discussion today was about giving and the law of circulation.

I have been the receiver of many gifts from the universe in recent months and have felt that I’ve not given back anywhere close to a similar proportion. Well, now I’m stepping up to the plate. It feels great!

In networking today with a group of job seekers, I told them that I’ve reduced my rates – “I need to earn some money but I really want to give too.”

True giving is a way to express love and we all ‘win’ – after all, I can’t be a giver if there’s no receiver!

The Can

I didn’t get everything on today’s ‘To Do’ list done. However, I did finish creating our manifestation can, which Rog and I both ‘got’ from Spirit that it was a high priority to complete today. A cash dollar amount for the month was set with Spirit’s guidance and we’ve now created a container to catch the prosperity and abundance that is ours by divine right.

This can is decorated with a colorful collage of graphics and words, all upbeat and meaningful to us. There are images of items such as: dogs, flowers, birds, lotus hands, hearts, and even us! Quotes include: “God is my supply.” and “Money is God in manifestation...”, and concepts like Trust, Service, Gratitude, Faith, and Love.

I enjoyed my arts and crafts session, a chance to be creative - much else on today’s list was not anywhere near as inspiring and joyful! I had a delightful time, especially knowing this activity was Spirit-directed and God was surely near.

Now to see what manifests and how – God’s work!

Practicing What Is Preached

Today was indeed an historical day for the United States of America in many ways and an historical inauguration.

In the 8 years that have passed since the last main presidential inauguration, my spiritual experience and knowledge have progressed and been enlarged, so I was particularly curious as to how religion and prayer would play a role in this political event.

I enjoyed the prayers, feeling they were mostly inclusive of all peoples, and full of admirable qualities that we all can strive toward. Now, I hope the sentiments expressed are put into action, including by the man who gave the Inaugural Invocation, Pastor Rick Warren.

Below is the Inaugural Invocation in its entirety taken from a Christian political blog site:

Let us pray.

Almighty God, our Father, everything we see and everything we can’t see exists because of you alone. It all comes from you. It all belongs to you. It all exists for your glory.

History is your story. The Scripture tells us, “Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God. The Lord is One.” And you are the compassionate and merciful one. And you are loving to everyone you have made.

Now, today, we rejoice not only in America’s peaceful transfer of power for the 44th time. We celebrate a hingepoint of history with the inauguration of our first African American president of the United States. We are so grateful to live in this land, a land of unequaled possibility, where the son of an African immigrant can rise to the highest level of our leadership. And we know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven.

Give to our new President, Barack Obama, the wisdom to lead us with humility, the courage to lead us with integrity, the compassion to lead us with generosity. Bless and protect him, his family, Vice President Biden, the cabinet, and every one of our freely elected leaders.

Help us, O God, to remember that we are Americans, united not by race, or religion, or blood, but to our commitment to freedom and justice for all. When we focus on ourselves, when we fight each other, when we forget you, forgive us. When we presume that our greatness and our prosperity is ours alone, forgive us. When we fail to treat our fellow human beings and all the earth with the respect that they deserve, forgive us. And as we face these difficult days ahead, may we have a new birth of clarity in our aims, responsibility in our actions, humility in our approaches, and civility in our attitudes, even when we differ.

Help us to share, to serve and to seek the common good of all. May all people of goodwill today join together to work for a more just, a more healthy and a more prosperous nation and a peaceful planet. And may we never forget that one day all nations and all people will stand accountable before you. We now commit our new president and his wife, Michelle and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, into your loving care.

I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life, Yeshua, Isa, Jesus [Spanish pronunciation], Jesus, who taught us to pray:

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Blessings Everywhere

Rog and I left our home in Gilbert at 6:00 AM yesterday so that we could attend the 9:00 AM Unity of Sedona service in the beautiful Red Rock Country of Arizona. We were heading to Sedona anyway so why not incorporate a Sunday morning service and get some extra spiritual nourishment?

This Unity church is nestled among the trees of West Sedona, housed in a quaint space with large windows to view nature and more easily feel at One. Just lov-er-ly!

The minister’s talk on prosperity was abundant with many messages for me. The main and most powerful one was to bless everything, everyone, all the time.

But, perhaps the greatest message – or rather the one I was in greatest need of hearing at that moment – was that when I’m worrying about something or someone, I am not in a spiritually awakened state. Oish! And too, when I am being judgmental or critical, I’m not in a spiritually awakened state. Of course, none of this is news to me – just a great reminder.

Now lately I have been feeling at peace in many matters and hence have deemed myself spiritually awakened – at that moment. I have been in the flow and it has felt wonderful. But, ah, how easily I can slip, especially when it comes to challenging people in life. When I realize that all they’re really doing is crying out for love, I snap back into the spiritually awakened me, and love them and bless them.

I choose to treat everything and everyone as a blessing. Thank You, Spirit, for all the blessings you shower upon me.

Prayer From a Friend

The following was emailed to me by a friend who had received it as part of a holiday greeting:

There are 12 months/ 12 disciples/ 12 tribes of Israel / Jesus' birth celebrated in the 12th month. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer. May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest Himself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God.

There was nothing attached but it was suggested that it be sent to twelve others. Perhaps you’ll feel moved to do so...
